Dr George Dimitroulis established MAXONIQ in early 2016 to commercialise the newly-developed, TMJ Total Joint Replacement System.

As a start-up company, born of the digital age, we have the flexibility of providing custom-made, patient specific devices which can easily and rapidly be delivered through the use of CAD-CAM technologies. 

Through our experience in digital design and our successful use of implantable devices created by advanced additive & subtractive manufacturing methods, we have the capability of producing an unlimited range of medical devices which is limited only by our imagination. We design simple solutions for complex oral and maxillofacial applications.

Our process

Creation of case file following the acquisition of the patient DICOM data.

CAD file creation including clinical and engineering review.

Clinician authorisation of device design.

The final approved design is sent through for manufacturing with our ISO certified manufacturing partner in Australia.

The end product is quality checked and shipped directly to the hospital.

Founder & Director


Dr. George Dimitroulis is the founder and director of MAXONIQ. He started the company in 2016 by developing a digital platform for the design and manufacture of innovative medical devices for the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery. George also runs his own specialist practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.


Trevor Townsend

Chairman


Trevor is a highly experienced board director, with extensive expertise in strategy, innovation, finance, governance and technology. Trevor has a Bachelor of Business RMIT and Graduate Diploma of Computing from Deakin University. Trevor has broad commercial experience with executive roles at National Australia Bank, TIBCO Software Inc, AIPEX, SMS Management & Technologies and Startupbootcamp. Trevor also has over 15 years of experience investing in startups and private businesses, with numerous exits including ASX listings and Board appointments including Private, Public and Not Profit companies.

Board Member


George is a key Board member of MAXONIQ. He has over 23 years of experience in the accounting profession and provides strategic, business and taxation advice to a wide variety of privately owned business and corporate clients. George has extensive commercial expertise in the business arena, also working as a Partner for the Strategem Group of businesses. George has previously held long standing positions with Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young.

Leigh Zhang

Board Member


Leigh has over 20 years of financial service industry experience in both Australia and China. She is Co Founder and Chief Investment Officer of WealthSpring International Group specialising in cross border strategic M&A transactions and deal structuring. Prior to founding WealthSpring, Leigh worked at Macquarie Bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Babcock & Brown head up these organisation's China business operations.


Stuart Douglas

Board Member


Stuart recently joined MAXONIQ as a commercial leader with a breadth of sales, marketing and senior management experience with global corporates such as Philips Healthcare, Toshiba, Medtronic and Straumann Group. His career in healthcare now extends beyond 25 years with expertise in medical devices and capital equipment in specialty fields such as radiology, cardiology and cardiac surgery and vascular surgery. Whilst at Straumann for 4.5 years he also has gained experience in dental implants, restorative dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Stuart at MAXONIQ is responsible for all sales, marketing and business development activities for the domestic and international markets.

Nathan Wang

Production Engineer


Nathan is experienced with delivering patient specific device solutions as he has been working in the industry since graduating. He is proficient in various software platforms and manufacturing technologies such as Materialize and Solidworks. Nathan has been with MAXONIQ since its inception and was involved in producing Melbourne's first 3D-printed jaw prosthesis. He is the senior production engineer responsible for all production activities.


Chris McCrowe

Design Engineer


After 17 years experience in the construction sector, Chris McCrowe discovered his passion lay in helping people and engineering, so he decided to combine the two and undertook an Honours Degree in Biomedical Engineering at RMIT, taking the leap into the MedTech industry. Chris is now a Design Engineer at MAXONIQ, where he enthusiastically leads the development of the ARTG listed ArthroJaw Total Joint Replacement System. Previously to MAXONIQ, he has worked in various roles in the Additive Manufacturing sector where he assisted healthcare specialists and other professionals by overseeing the planning, production and manufacture of one-off and bespoke devices used in medical, aerospace and many other industrial applications. In his spare time, Chris dabbles in hobby 3D printing, he cultivates bonsai, and still quite often enjoys strapping on a toolbelt and swinging a hammer for renovation projects.
